Another thing I hate about this cold

I’m about to go to bed, and I can just tell that it’s going to be a long night.

Ugh, my throat.

Other than feeling terrible, of course

The worst part about being sick is the complete inability to do anything. Not only do you not feel well enough to do any work, but you also feel too bad to goof off.

Teh sickness

First the cousins got strep. Then E got strep. Then Katie, C, and I woke up this morning all feeling terrible but in different ways.

C is definitely running a fever, but the doc doesn’t think it’s strep (it’s hard for babies to get strep, for one thing, and she failed - or passed? - the quick strep test). Katie has classic strep symptoms and will go to the doctor after taking care of baby.

Personally, I’m sitting on my front porch, listening to music, and feeling mostly lousy.

Yay for Saturday! Looks like we’re having a forced weekend off. At least it’s a three day weekend.

Am I ever going to feel well?

This morning I awoke with the feeling that I’d finally kicked this 2 1/2 week cold. I’ve finally gotten my voice back, and I’m no longer congested. Yay!

But now I’m coughing my head off. It’s uncontrollable, and I’m bleh.

I’ve got you!

It’s a real bummer that I’m sick right now, and not just because I’ve been sick for more than a week now (bleh).

One of my brothers lives in the splendid state that is Mississippi, so I rarely get to see him or his clan. But this week, my sis-in-law brought the two young’ins up to Knoxville.

I can’t express how cool it is to get to see them, I’m afraid I’m scaring the cuteness that is Harper (scroll down). She runs up to me and squeals, in the way only a not-quite-two-year-old can, “I got you!!!”

I try to croak out a “no, I’ve got you!” but I’m afraid that might seem like a bad thing. I’ve so far refrained from picking her up, for the same reason.

I’m afraid of scarring the poor child.
