That child loves to read
It’s amazing and wonderful how much baby C loves to read. Set her in a room of toys and books, and she’ll hand you a book and want to sit on your lap.
This morning, I dropped the Bug off at her Mimi’s house on my way to work. She gave me a big kiss, and then wanted to follow me out to wave goodbye (ok, really she just likes going outside). But of course she had to bring a book, and right as I got in the car, she must have remembered the book, because she promptly plopped down and started flipping through the pages.
I love that
I love that I just brought C into a room filled with toys, and she immediately plopped herself beside a stack of books and started “reading.”
My beach reading list
Now that I’ve finally finished the two books I was reading, I can move on to my beach list. In the past, I’ve read some rather not beachy books on vacation, but this year I will have a heckuva lot more responsibilities. I’m actually going light this year. So, without further ado, my beach reading list:
I think I’ll only have time for the two books, but I’m going to bring a few more in case. I’m generally not a fast read, but I generally don’t read fast read books.
Planning beach reading
I don’t really enjoy the beach for the water, the sand, or the sun. I love going to the beach because it’s relaxing, pressure free, and I can read a lot.
In years past, I’ve brought a lot of light reading – Jane Austen, Henry Fielding, George Eliot, etc. But this year I’ve got a few more responsibilities than I’ve had in the past (we didn’t make it to the beach last year). And I don’t really have much of a reading queue anyway.
So one of my goals for the next week or so is get a few good beach reading books ordered. But I have no clue how to start. Is there a pandora for literature?
