Did you know I have the best wife in the world?
Did you know she’s one of the coolest people ever to walk the earth, not to mention the most beautiful?
I thoroughly enjoy her company, and I’m never bored when I’m with her. We’ve had a fantastic and wonderful two years together.
Two years ago today was a Saturday. Katie and I were married on a beautiful September morning, in her mother’s Bell Buckle, TN, back yard, with an awesome party across the street (thanks again, Kimi!). I’ll always remember that day as one of the best days in my life, and I’ll always remember it, too, as the beginning of a wonderful marriage.
Kate – you are the absolute best. You’re a joy. I love you, and I appreciate you. I can’t imagine life without you.

Katie got a new toy
Today, Katie got a new toy. It’s a fancy-schmancy blackberry.
And as much as I love techie stuff and new gadgets, I’m very much not impressed.
Can anybody tell me why I should be impressed?

Today, Katie had to be at work at 5 am. FIVE. Me, I was still deeply asleep and really had to shake myself out of it to care for the baby, who didn’t like her mother’s departure.
I talked to Katie a few minutes ago, and she was still at work, awaiting relief. She sounded like she was starting to get delirious, and I can’t imagine it otherwise. I eventually got up at 5:30 this morning, although I didn’t have to be at work until 8. And I’m so sleepy I can hardly see straight.
Katie, you impress me.
After the Bug got up for the day, earlier than usual, I had to get ready for work while getting her ready for her day in addition to taking care of the puppy and getting H to school on time. I did it all and came out okay, including my now fifty minute commute, but I sure wouldn’t want to make a habit of it.
The one thing I had to let slide this morning (other than the dishes – I’m still in denial) was the dogs. They did get fed and watered, but they were barking at something for at least an hour, and I simply had no way to remedy the situation. I hope my neighbors will forgive me.
