Babies are silly

For the last fifteen or twenty minutes, the Bug has been wandering around, chatting, and generally being as happy as a Bug could be.
What is making her so happy? A metal bandaid box. She’s been walking around from room to room with a metal metal bandaid box up to her ear, as if it’s a phone.
Babies are silly.

Haha!
Our “tipping point” was this: Caitlin used to love holding DVD covers in one hand, and be supported by an adult hand with the other to walk.
When it became apparent that she could be walking on her own and only lacked the confidence to let go, I gave her 2 DVD covers!

That’s awesome!

Hey Jon, sorry to ask you this on your blog, but I couldn’t get my email working correctly today. Anyway, what would be the best gift a new dad-to-be could recieve? Did you get anything specifically for you that helped you the most? Thanks so much. Dana

Oh, heck, I don’t know. I think the only things I was given were a diaper bag and some books. I don’t recommend the books.
If the father-to-be is going to be spending a lot of time as the caregiver, a diaper bag that’s not girly is nice. But they’re not cheap, either.
But you don’t have to give a useful baby-related gift. Congratulations gifts can come in many forms, if the point is to congratulate him.
In fact, that’s what I’d probably recommend: a bottle of champagne (although mom-to-be couldn’t drink much of it until baby is born, obviously) or some other gift that would be either meaningful or distracting.

Ohhh, I love the champagne idea. and the non-girly diaper bag. It’s for George at the Brewery, his honey is now pregnant and they are moving next week. Thanks Jon!!!!

Yeah, I don’t know George personally, but I can’t see him carrying a diaper bag with too many frills.
