So I might be getting a new car
Whew, it’s been a long week. I’ll have more on this later, I think, but it looks like I might be getting a new (to me) car sometime next week. I’ve got it with me over the weekend to think it over, and you know how that tends to go.
I’m pretty much excited beyond words. I’ve had a total of two cars in my life: an ‘81 F-150, and the ‘94 Subaru I’m driving now. The Subaru was a big step up from the truck (it has air conditioning!) when I got it eight years ago, but the Honda I’m test driving (an ‘05) has even more to offer (a working speedometer!).
There are a ton of reasons to trade up right now, but number one is the questionable safety of the ancient station wagon. I will feel indescribably safer driving the Honda home today than I did driving the Subaru yesterday.
W00t!

It is fun to drive, although not as peppy as the Jetta (by far).
It has a cd player, which means I have to burn a cd this afternoon to find out if if has a stereo.
Any suggestions?

My suggestion is to not buy from a dealership.
I have had much better luck dealing with individuals.

I wondered why there wasn’t a Suburu parked next to mine when I saw you at the store. I told B yours must be in the shop. He said “maybe he got a new one.” To which I said, “they both blog and blab regularly, there’s no way it wouldn’t have come up!” I stand corrected!

Yeah, I never blabbed about it or asked anything about it, because I didn’t really have any questions. Just excitement!
