Planning beach reading

I don’t really enjoy the beach for the water, the sand, or the sun. I love going to the beach because it’s relaxing, pressure free, and I can read a lot.
In years past, I’ve brought a lot of light reading - Jane Austen, Henry Fielding, George Eliot, etc. But this year I’ve got a few more responsibilities than I’ve had in the past (we didn’t make it to the beach last year). And I don’t really have much of a reading queue anyway.
So one of my goals for the next week or so is get a few good beach reading books ordered. But I have no clue how to start. Is there a pandora for literature?

Ohhh, reading on the beach. That’s what people do before they have children.

Actually, I prefer not even going down to the beach. But I’m still going to read this beach trip. I’ve just got to be more flexible.

Don’t we have a babysitting service?

Forget the babysitting service (by a stranger in an unfamiliar area) for a baby that can’t even talk yet. Too many horror stories…

Oh,you’ll have a great time just breathing in that salt air! What beach are you going to? I love the Jersey Shore-best food, best beaches, best entertainment for kids and parents!

Try goodreads. It’s not so much pandora as it is myspace for readers. I like it as a place to keep track of what I’ve read. You know, a simple notebook just wouldn’t work…

I glanced at goodreads yesterday but didn’t get much out of it.
And Joe - I was told our “babysitting service” personnel is going to be on vacation, too. Whatever that means.

I suppose it wouldn’t if what you’re looking for is a reader’s advisory sort of dealio. Let me know if you find anything like that.
