Sick of being sick

I am unbelievably sick of not being able to breathe.

Bleh.

Home with sick baby

This morning, as I was standing in the kitchen making my toast, Katie came running in looking worried. It seems like everyone has been sick lately; I know I feel lousy. The bug had slept horribly last night, and this morning was looking flushed and fevered. We dug out the baby thermometer, and sure enough: her temperature was 101.

So here I am for the day, although probably not on the computer too much (story of my life of late). C was pretty fussy for a while, but now she’s seeming chipper. Since one of my nieces actually had seizures this weekend from a fever, I’m keeping her near by.

A thousand words

When you put it that way

If you wonder why my blogging varies in frequency.

Would anybody believe me

I’ve got the trailer pulled up at the back of the house, and I’ve loaded about a dozen trips worth of drywall remnant. The goal is to be at the dump sometime early this afternoon and be rid of this junk.

Would anybody believe me if I said this is the best day off, like, evar?

Not sure what this says about me

Tomorrow, I’m finally going to get to take a load of stuff to the dump. I’ve got a bunch of “gifts” from the previous owner that really need to be cleared out - everything from drywall remnants to an old bicycle to ancient car batteries (they can take those at our neighborhood dump) - and I have been dying to get the stuff out of the house since we bought it a year and a half ago.

I’ve just got to remember to carry cash to pay to get rid of it. It wouldn’t be good to get there with a load of junk and have no $ to pay for getting rid of it.

Anyway, I’m pretty excited. I’m even taking a day off work!

Morning mumblings

This morning, since Katie stayed home with the bug, I got to move a little more leisurely. I got up a bit later, dealt with the dogs, and had breakfast. And when it was time to leave, I left. (Luckily for me, the bug woke up before I left, so I did get to see her.)

It occurs to me that my mornings are a whole lot easier without the babe. Oh well.

Tomorrow, I’m taking a post tax season day off. It didn’t occur to me until this morning that even if I take the day off tomorrow, I’ll still have a baby morning - the bug will still spend the day with my mom so I can get a million non baby-friendly things done (hopefully including the bank). At least I’ll get started early, I guess.

Hopefully I’ll be feeling somewhat better; right now I feel like I need to hibernate.

This is going to be painful

So I managed to get sick again. That’s twice in the span of about six weeks - probably because I thought “dang, I haven’t been sick in a while.”

But I’m definitely sick now, and this sore throat is killing me. I hate it. And the worst part is knowing that when I try to go to sleep tonight, it’s going to get worse. It always gets worse at night.

So here I am feeling utterly exhausted - I’ve felt that way all day - and knowing that while what I need most is sleep, what I dread most is also sleep.

She likes the swing!

The bug has had a good week at the office, despite our worries about April 15th. Yesterday morning, she hung out with her dad, and in the afternoon her Mimi took her to the park, where she loved the swing:

What a difference a day makes.

The telephone’s hardly rung once today, and it rang all day long yesterday and the day before.

And right in the midst of the chaos, I managed to come down with a cold (or more likely allergies), so I slept quite poorly last night. Blech.

I’m about ready for a day off.

I know what I want to do tonight:

As little as I can get away with.
