The mosquitos found me

I love our house. I am extremely happy with our luck in finding and buying it. I loved it from the first step I took inside the front door. I loved it from stepping on the front porch, but I tried not to get carried away. Even our realtor could tell that it was meant to be.
But one definite thing I don’t like about our house is the mosquito problem. With our yard backing up to a creek, we’re definitely in the mosquito zone. In the warm weather, they’re everywhere.
And this week they’ve found me. And my ankles, they itch.

Purple martins (http://purplemartin.org/main/mgt.html)
or bats (http://www.batcon.org/pdfs/AttractingBats.pdf) would help you out.

I received an e-mail last week that said to use Listerine or the off brand kind. Just put in a spray bottle and spray. Supposed to work better than Yard Gaurd or Off. Plus it’s lots cheaper. I personally have not tried it yet.

You can always call the Health Department and see if they’re able to treat the creek with a mosquito repellant chemical to keep them from breeding so much. I know they can do that with ponds; I just don’t know how well it’d work for flowing water. 215-5200

They always try to spray our area, but it never seems to do any good. Maybe I should specifically suggest it, though.
