Screaming her head off as we speak

March 19th, 2008 | 3 Comments

C is at the doctor for her six month shots (yes, we’re running late). I talked to Katie between the weighing in and the shots, and she’s still got the huge head to small height ratio (49th percentile height, 90th for weight and head size). She weighs 20 pounds even.

Katie had to hang up when the doctor showed up for the shots, and she hasn’t yet called back. I can only assume my cute little girl is currently screaming her confused head off.

:-(

edit: word is she cried for about thirty seconds and then proceeded to laugh and laugh and laugh. yay!

Not conducive to work

March 19th, 2008 | No Comments

Days like this are hard for me. I love a good spat of nasty weather as much as the next guy, but dark and dreary mornings just aren’t a lot of fun when you have a lot of work to do.

Must find energy.

Looking forward to

March 19th, 2008 | 2 Comments

I’m very much looking forward to having time to think about blogging again. Right now, every single bit of my energy is devoted to work, family, and house. Blogging more now would go something like this: “wow, I’m really busy at work,” “wow, my child is cute,” “dang, it was chilly at baseball practice last night,” or “man, I need to finish painting the fence.”

Soon.

First time ever

March 18th, 2008 | No Comments

Pretty cool. Today at work, C fell asleep in the backpack, carried by her Mimmi, and - for the first time ever - we were able to take her from the back pack and put her in her car seat without waking her.

She was a good girl today.

Common sense?

March 16th, 2008 | 15 Comments

How long can you safely leave a child in a closed car? If the car is locked, the alarm is on, you’re within sight, and the whole thing only lasts a minute or two, is that okay? Obviously some say yes and some say no. Some, I’m sure, would want it to be illegal to close a child in a car for even a second, even if the child was in absolutely no danger.

It leaves me wondering whatever happened to common sense. And this black-and-whiting doesn’t seem right. You can’t legislate intelligence, can you?

Cute?

C looooves my glasses. I always imagine they confuse her - “why do daddy’s eyes come off?” So today I thought she might like to try them on.

I think it looked cuter in person:

A new skill I’m acquiring: being able to wake from a nap and immediately talk intelligibly to a client about specific tax information.

What the time change means to me

March 10th, 2008 | 7 Comments

(Other than all the clocks being wrong, of course.)

What the time change means to me: when I get home tonight, I’ll have a good two hours to paint the fence.

Yay?
