I can’t believe I’m finding myself hooked on HGTV.
Tags: old houseKatie is taking C to middle Tennessee this weekend, because of a conference for work.
I, on the other hand, am staying here because I have to work, and I miss them both already.

C’s big girl carseat is officially installed and ready to use. When I leave work in a few hours, I will be carrying her out in my arms instead of in her carseat - a new challenge.
Also, whereas her old carseat had her sitting on one side of the back seat because the carseat was way bigger than the small car, the new carseat fits in the middle; boy am I glad we didn’t opt for the more expensive carseat designed for small cars! But now the seat takes up most of the back of the car, *and* I will no longer be able to see her by turning my head. Nor will I be able to put her pacifier back in while driving.
One step forward, two steps back.
Tags: carseatC has about outgrown her baby bucket carseat. Katie and I hope to have her completely switched over to the bigger baby carseat by the weekend. Really, we should’ve already switched her over, because her shoulders are a bit higher than the seatbelt, and that’s a no-no. I’m told her shoulders would break in a wreck!
Anyway, obviously this change means no longer carrying C around in her carseat. That fact had occurred to me, and I knew that things could get more difficult, but I just had a realization: when in the past I’ve left work with full hands, I will now have to take two trips, because I won’t be able to carry much with a baby in my arms.
Well, I guess if it’s time, it’s time. And I need to get the new carseats installed now.
Tags: baby, c, carseatJust after posting how C is flipping over any chance she gets even though she then fusses because she hates tummy time, I had to get up and put her back on her back because she was unhappy on her belly. She then immediately flipped back over and started sceaming!
Tags: baby, flippingNow that C has discovered how to flip over (back to front), she is doing it whenever she has the chance. Right this second, she has flipped from her back to her tummy, and is checking out the scene.
But C hates being on her tummy. She obviously enjoys her new trick, and I’m sure she loves having a bit more control over her surroundings, but sooner or later I keep thinking she’ll realize that exercising said control ultimately makes her unhappy. I expect screaming at any second.
Oh, and Katie hasn’t seen C flip over yet. She pretty much does it every time I set her down, but by evening when her mama is home, C is too tired to flip over. Maybe I should make a video for Katie.

Tags: ice, workIt’s weird how I’m always running, running, running, or sitting and wondering what I was running for.
Tags: wonderDear Dell:
The cd burner you gave me - that replaced the one that broke after only six months - well, it’s a piece of junk.
When the original burner broke so quickly, I was pretty upset. But then you replaced it for free within a week, and that made me happy. But this burner is really, really cheap and only works about half of the time! And really, I think that’s pretty lame. I think you could do better. I think you should do better.
I’m ready to have a cd burner that actually works. Heck, the computer itself is just about a year and a half old. I really shouldn’t be having these problems. I shouldn’t be having to use my wife’s Toshiba to burn anything important, especially since my Dell cost about twice as much as her Toshiba.
A client came in last week and showed off his brand new HP laptop, and it sure did look nice. I wonder if HP’s quality control is any better than yours. I wonder if they make cd burners that actually work more times than not. I wonder if this will be my last Dell laptop.
Jon
PS I’d also kinda like to get all of those wasted blank CDR’s back, please. I’m kind of tired of throwing away discs because your hardware is a piece of junk.
