Two random things that drive me nuts

- People putting stuff in the sink. It drive me nuts. Yes, if it needs to soak, put it in the sink. But if it’s just dirty, leave it on the counter. Yes, I know lots of families don’t do it this way, but I do, and I do the dishes (and I don’t want to have to start by cleaning out the sink).
- Kids when they’re “starving” before supper, so starving that they *must* have a small snack, but not so starving that they’re still hungry enough for supper after the small snack … yet - and I bet you saw this one coming - hungry enough that they’re starving again right around bed time.

Dude, you just named my number 1 pet peeve, dishes in the sink! The worst is when BOTH sides are filled up. You can’t wash your hands, you can’t clean out the coffee pot, you can’t do anything until you move those dadgum dishes! I rant and rave about this all of the time. You would think after 23 years of marriage, my wife would finally take the hint, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Ugh!
The kid starving thing don’t bother me as much though. I just say NO!

They should rinse the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. If the dishes in the dishwasher are clean, they should empty it. Get tough.

I used to make my daughters take turns week per week doing the dishes. I finally got so tired of dishes in the sink that I took back the job this week. It is much better! Now they have to dust, sweep all the massive amounts of hardwoods, and vaccum. I think they’d prefer the dishes!

My pet peeve is when the discoverer of cat or dog vomit becomes selectively blind, walking past it (or even co-existing with it for an entire afternoon) without cleaning it up.
