Dear Knoxville drivers:
January 30, 2008 ·
I know you think you can drive while talking on the phone, but you’re very, very wrong. I know you’ve seen other drivers swerving about and driving slowly in the left lane, and you think you don’t do that when you drive. You’re wrong. Very wrong. That phone is making you a terrible driver, and everyone is mad at you, especially that guy you never noticed almost hitting. Please just hang up and drive.
Jon
PS driving slowly in the right lane doesn’t really help, either, because it still slows other drivers and you’re still swerving. Just hang up or put it in park!

Right on! I think people should receive citations for using a phone while driving.
I used to disagree, but the longer I drive, the more I agree. I see this every day, and it’s ridiculous.
There was a girl in front of me the other day. She was going 10 mph and stopping 3 cars lengths back at a red light. I finally start around her when she swerves in my lane. Guess what she was doing…texting on her phone!! I wanted to scream!
I used to work with a guy that would text and drive. There was one day I knew he was on the interstate and I kept getting emails from him. I emailed back, Are you texting me while you are driving to the airport?
He wrote yes. I was floored.
Where I live you can get a big fine if you talk on your cell or text while driving. People are just so damned stupid to do that stuff.Do they not realize that they could be responsible for killing someone because of using their cell phone? I don’t get it! On second thought, yes I do -It’s ALL about THEM! Dumb asses!
