Random questions:

January 3rd, 2008, at 10:27 AM
  • Do you let yourself get hungry? I mean, if you feel hungry in the morning between meals, do you find yourself a snack, or do you just shrug your shoulders?
  • Why do they sew up the exterior pockets on blazers? It’s not to keep us from stealing stuff, because they don’t sew up inside pockets. Do the pockets sag if you rip the stitches?
  • I feel like I need a third question to round out the list, but I just don’t have one right now.

I try to get a snack, but a good one. I’m trying to lose weight (and succeeding!).

That’s to keep the line of the jacket and they’re only basted shut for the stores. Once you own the jacket you’re supposed to carefully rip that thread out so you can use the pockets.

What do you mean “keep the line of the jacket?”

  3. DnB says:

The drape, the hang of the jacket. Putting items or even your hands in the pockets can mess up the clean, straight fall of a jacket and make the jacket look droopy. Trouser pockets are usu. for holding items. (Though some of my nice pants have the back pockets tacked shut too.) It also keeps customers from jamming their hands in the pockets when trying on jackets.

1~ i am breastfeeding a 13 week old so i try not to get hungry, but eating has always been an issue with me, i can go all day and not eat.
    it drives hubz batty.

2~ i think the line of the jacket means how it falls on the body.

3~i will wait patiently for the 3rd question.

  5. jon says:

But y’all are saying that even after buying said jacket, it’s best to keep the pockets sewn shut, because if they’re used at all it will make the jacket look “droopy?”

I’m sure I’ll come up with a third question soon enough.

How about this: when will the (&%^*^% Charter guy leave so I can have my internet connection back?

  6. DnB says:

Jon, it’s a personal choice. No one will think any differently of you regardless of whether you are stitched, or not stitched.

  7. jon says:

    heh.
