Is this ok?
November 28, 2007 ·
I was told “she put herself in that position, it’s ok.”
But I’m not sure I buy that logic.
Thoughts?

Does she still have the squeaky breath larynx thingy issue? If so, I’d err on the side of caution.
Thankfully, she’s pretty much grown out of that. But I’d still tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to such things as extreme head positions. I just don’t want to wake her up unnecessarily.
I always moved mine when they ended up like that….eek. It sure looks bad doesn’t it. If nothing else, you’ll save her from a terrible crick in her neck…
mine does it all the time, and i dare not touch her or she will wake up. i have seen some little headholderuppers around…
erika
Egads, and you wouldn’t even know that she had a crick in her neck. You’d just know she was crying inconsolably!
I did move her twice, and it didn’t phase her. But the second time she immediately moved back. That’s when a coworker said she got in that position because she wanted in it.
I guess I want to believe the coworker but my gut says no. But Erika, I’m glad to hear that you’ve had luck with it.
I know, poor C. wouldn’t be able to say her neck hurt…just cry. There were times when I was so happy to have my second baby asleep that I did leave her like that. But I was always worried and watched her like a hawk…
guess what?
my 6 year old when he saw the photo said “MOM! o no! baby charlotte neck!v thats not safe mommy”
so there ya go….
SUPER cute!
Lake slept like that alot when she was younger. When I first brought her home, she was barely over 4 1/2 lbs. and it did scare me, but I never wake sleeping baby. She’s 15 mos. now and still doing great. She however falls asleep like that in the stroller. Babies are weird creatures sometimes, aren’t they?
