Back to work
I’m back to work this morning after taking off with C yesterday. We decided I wouldn’t get any work done if I took her to work, because of her cold making it hard for her to sleep. And really, sick babies just want to be held. It turned out to be a good thing that I stayed home, because the longest time she let me put her down was about thirty minutes. The rest of the day I held her. I didn’t even have time to check my email more than once or twice. It was something.
Not that I’m complaining.
C is feeling a lot better today, but she’s still having issues breathing. She’s getting old enough to understand that when I put her in my car, she’s going to be in her carseat for a while and that’s just life. She rarely complains about my car, I think because she knows she just has to wait a while and she’ll be let out. This morning, the drive up was uneventful except that I could hear her struggling to breath in the back seat. Having a cold myself, I am extra sympathetic. But at least I understand why I feel so bad and how long it’ll take to feel better.
I think today is going to go a lot better. But even if she isn’t feeling great, I have more help today. I can hear my mother playing with her in the other room right now. It’s pretty cute.
