Random neighbor question

Say you have a neighbor who is out of town for a while - a month or more - and they left garbage (not smelly) in their garbage cans beside their house - and garbage beside the garbage cans - would it be rude to put their garbage by the street for them?
Would it be weird?

I would do it and then put the cans back afterward, I mean who is going to notice besides you!?

I guess I’m wondering what they’d think when they got back. And I wouldn’t want to make them feel bad for leaving the trash, either.

sure, do it. My wife does it whenever our neighbor needs it. she also takes their cans back in if they left for the weekend. they don’t take offense. It helps keep the neighborhood looking clean. If everybody did just a little random garbage pick up we might have a much cleaner Knoxville.

We’ve done it for neighbors. It’s not rude to help someone, we’ve just become so paranoid about privacy and personal space that we’re afraid to hug or reach out a hand.

Ok. I’ll definitely do it, then, since no one thinks it’d be weird.

It would be a kind and neighborly thing to do, in a world where this is becoming increasingly harder to find… likely they forgot about it and would much appreciate your doing this for them.
