I agree with Cathy
Apparently this is “de-lurking week.” I agree with Cathy; if you want to do something nice to a blogger:
1. Leave a comment related to something they post
2. Make a post on your own blog that agrees or disagrees (politely) with one of their opinions
3. Laugh when they’re funny, groan when they’re not and kick them in the pants when they are wallowing in self pity. Bloggers don’t expect all commenters to be sycophantic suck-ups.
4. Make comments about their flickr pictures.
5. Keep updating your own blog. You are important, too.
I wonder what the commenter to poster ratio is on blogs. How many readers do you need before you can get real conversations? (And more than twelve poll voters, for that matter.)

Yes, yes, I read your blog. I also read Cathy’s. I have nothing to say, really.
Oh yeah, happy belated birthday.
Yeah, if somebody comments, I want it to be because they have something to say, not because they feel obligated to comment.
I don’t think the point is people should always comment.
The point is just to say hi on occasion. Only about ten percent of my blog readers comment. Maybe fewer than that. And I always wonder what the rest are thinking.
Maybe the rest are spambots and they’re thinking “spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam, spam.”
I read this blog, AtomicTumor, Katie’s, & Steel Pie just about every day. I have commented on AT & Katie’s but only rarely. I guess that makes me a lurker. Oh well, another nasty personal trait for me!
There’s nothing wrong with lurkers, though. It’s not a nasty trait at all.
Thanks for saying hi.
