Recent takes on the Hanging…
Some thoughts from local bloggers: Finally, the dominant So-Damn-Insane is dead. I know his death doesn’t bring back the many lives lost that he took, or in some way had a hand in taking. -ChipTalks Drama Lama has graphic video……

Good thing nobody mentioned the Iraq-Iran war and the US complicity in it during the trail…

What do you mean nothing good will come of it? A tyrant and mass murderer got his comeuppance instead of dying in his bed of old age. That’s a good result in and of itself.

Yeah. And the world even more hating us than it did before? And everyone knowing we were the ones responsible?
And a first world country being responsible for murder? What purpose does that serve, exactly?
You’re saying that the good will come of it will be comeuppance? That’s fantastic. Revenge is always a positive.

The U.S. didn’t try or execute Saddam Hussein. Iraq did.
As far as world opinion, a majority of people in Great Britain, France, Germany, and Spain favored Saddam’s execution:
Percentage of respondents in favor of executing Saddam Hussein:
USA: 82%
Great Britain: 69%
France: 58%
Germany: 53%
Spain: 51%
Italy: 46%
Mass murderers being brought to justice is a positive. Saddam killed entire villages to fortify his political position and buried them in mass graves.
I don’t understand why people talk about revenge like it’s a bad thing. Maybe you can explain it to me.
