I’m with him
December 11, 2006 ·
I nearly hit a car in West Knoxville last week because the driver slammed on his brakes the instant the light turned yellow, despite having plenty of room to make it through the light.
To the .gov: Despite the fact that studies concluded that red light cameras either increased accidents or had no effect on accidents, you you voted to install them any way. I guess the pocketbook is more important than the lives of your constituents, who hopefully vote your sorry asses out soon.
I definitely feel safer.

I was thinking about how fun it would be to just get through the interestion while the light is green then stop. Cars would line up behind you in the intersection and then when the light turns and the camera fires, you could move on. Your car would be blocked from view but several cars would be shown in the intersection.
This occurred to me on a rainy day when I entered the light on a green right as it turned to yellow, and someone ahead did stop almost causing me to be stuck in the intersection.
The solution? All cars should stop at the green light until the intersection is clear enough to go through. This would essentially turn the intersection into a 4 way stop except that only 2 of the 4 ways would be active at a time.
That was probably me.
Those cameras are making me very, very paranoid!
Yeah, I could add that I’m now scared to turn right on red for fear of camera glitches and a complete lack of accountability.
Got my 4th red light ticket today. I’m pissed!!!!!
